It is important to use treats in the training process, but more important to not over feed your pup. For dogs under 20 lbs I recommend cutting them into even smaller pieces. Zukes is a natural product and isn't full of fillers. They have different treats available including "Power Bars" for dogs. Zukes Mini Naturals can be found at most pet stores along with their other treat offerings.
       
Dog Harness NYC Dog Walking and Cat Sitting This harness is designed for the dog that drags you around the block every day! This halter can be slipped over the head or clipped on. There is a ring to connect the leash that is situated at the dogs chest rather than between the sholders or at the back of the neck. I highly recommend it! It has helped even the worst of pullers. It will make walking your dog so much more enjoyable.

Mike and Mini Mike from Canine Genius are "Smart" dog toys. Your pup has to figure out how to hold the toy to get the treats out. Not recommended for heavy chewers, plastic is durable but not for those dogs that "destroy" toys. It is very important to supervise your pet while playing with these toys. Range in price from $9 to $16.
       

Twist n Treat is very entertaining for most dogs, again this is not for the "chewer", but Zukes training treats fit perfectly inside the toy. The dog has to twist open the toy to get the treat. It can provide hours of entertainment. Also made by Canine Genius

The balls have squeakers in each. You place all the balls in the cube and the Fido has to get them out. You may have to spend a few minutes explaining this in dog language. I recommend putting a small treat in the cube to start. This will get the dog comfortable sticking its nose into the cube. Then show the dog that the balls squeak and place the balls in the cube infront of the dog. Encourage them to get the ball. Once they have mastered this, teach them to put the balls back!

Cat beds can sometimes be so unattractive! I ran across this one and thought wow this looks like a piece of furniture. It is reasonably price for its sharp looks. Now the trick is if your cat will like it as much as you do!

       

I find that almost every cat loves these feather wands. This one made by Kong has natural feathers. Avoid the brightly colored ones, most cats consume the feathers and the heavy dyes are not good for your furry friend. The vulnerable part of the toy is where the feathers connect to the line. Kong has come up with a creative solution, a small crinkle sleeve to cover it. Cats love the sound of the crinkle it makes. TIP: keep this toy put away, otherwise your cat might have the feathers for an afternoon snack!
